Very soulful and prayerful, Eric. You're drinking from a limpid stream most players are ignoring today, much to their detriment. Jazz and blues need not be profane; they can be sacred too.

Great work, Eric. Very soulful and appropriate. You're drnking from a limpid stream many players are ignoring today, much to their detriment. Always good to hear jazz and blues in a sacred mode rather than profane.

Thanks for such a kind comment, Bob. You and I think alike on this subject. It's deeply important for me to emphasize blues and the spiritual roots of jazz. Honestly, I think the greatest strength of the blues system (and I believe it to be a system, not a mere idiom) is it's ability to express redemptive suffering to a greater degree than perhaps any other artform. Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment.
