If there's one tune that is most associated with jazz clarinet, particularly from the instrument's roots in the Crescent City, it's probably "Just A Closer Walk With Thee." Two of the patriarchs of jazz clarinet, Pete Fountain and George Lewis, released multiple classic versions of this hymn, and it was one I knew we had to have at the debut performance of Eric Seddon's Hot Club.
