As people around here know, I hold down the clarinet chair in Hot Djang, Cleveland's Gypsy Jazz Quintet. We're happy to be playing at The Bop Stop on December 18th, show starting at 8pm. If you're in town, come on by--it's gonna be a cookin' time. As a jazz clarinetist there is really nothing quite like playing Gypsy Jazz--the timbres are so clear and clean that, as the only horn in the band, I really get to use every register in every possible way. There's a tremendous sense of freedom and fun. Needless to say, playing in Hot Djang is one of the most truly satisfying musical experiences I've had over the years.
